Overview

Navigation electronics are the eyes and brain of every vessel. Modern ships rely on integrated bridge systems combining radar, electronic charts, GPS positioning, automatic identification systems, and collision avoidance technology to navigate safely in all conditions. Fieldbase provides complete navigation solutions from individual component supply to integrated bridge system design and installation. We work with leading manufacturers (Furuno, JRC, Navico, Anschutz, Simrad, Garmin Marine) to deliver equipment proven in commercial maritime service. Our marine electronics engineers are factory-trained, certified for IMO equipment installations, and experienced across vessel types from fishing boats to offshore support vessels.

Whether you're building a new vessel, retrofitting aging navigation equipment, or upgrading for regulatory compliance, we handle procurement, installation, commissioning, certification surveys, and ongoing maintenance.

Reliable systems for safer journeys

Radar Systems

Marine radar supports safe navigation and collision avoidance. We install X Band, S Band, and solid state radar with ARPA tracking, plus full mounting, integration, testing, and certification.

Installation Includes

  • Radar antenna mounting (mast or arch)

  • Cabling to bridge display and processor

  • Display integration with ECDIS and chart systems

  • Calibration and performance testing

  • IMO performance test and certification

ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System)

ECDIS replaces paper charts with real time navigation, route planning, and alarms, and is required for most commercial vessels. We supply systems from approved manufacturers.

Installation Includes

  • Bridge console installation or retrofit mounting

  • Integration with ship's sensors (GPS, gyro, speed log, AIS)

  • Chart licensing and initial chart loading

  • Type-specific training for crew

  • Flag state approval and certification

GPS & GNSS Positioning

Accurate position fixing is fundamental to modern navigation. We install multi-constellation GNSS receivers supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou for maximum accuracy and redundancy.

System Components

  • GPS antenna (typically mounted on wheelhouse roof or mast)

  • GPS receiver/processor

  • Distribution to ECDIS, radar, AIS, autopilot

  • Backup GPS for redundancy (required on SOLAS vessels)

AIS (Automatic Identification System)

AIS broadcasts vessel position, course, speed, and identity to nearby vessels and shore stations—enabling collision avoidance and vessel traffic management. Required by IMO for vessels over 300 GT.

Installation Includes

  • AIS transponder installation

  • VHF antenna (dedicated or shared with VHF radio)

  • Integration with GPS, gyrocompass, speed log

  • Display integration with ECDIS and radar

  • MMSI programming and station licensing
